T.Hanks For All The Oscars
It’s almost time for the Oscars again, and while we're hopeful that
Hollyoaks will finally gain
the recognition it deserves from the Academy, we are also aware that this year
the most successful actor of all time may well take his individual Oscar wins
total above 100.
Yes indeed, Mr. Tom Hanks, as you should all
know, has won no less than 97 Oscars in his short career, and with 8 nominations
this year he could win more. Some people probably won’t believe that TH,
as his mates call him, has won that many, so we'll briefly remind you of some his
biggest wins:
- Tom received 4 Best Actor awards for the film Philadelphia.
- Tom received a Best Actor and Best Supporting Actress award for the film Schindler's List.
- Tom won the Oscar for Best Original Score for his work on the film Speed 2.
- Tom won the Award for Best Cinematography for the film Miss Congeniality in 2000 and again in 2002 for the same film.
- In 1996 he won the Bringing Home the Bacon Award for bringing Kevin Bacon safely home from outer space – a move that was panned by the critics, and anyone else who knows Kevin Bacon.
- Hanks was awarded the coveted Lifetime Achievement award in 1977, a remarkable achievement for a man who only started acting professionally in 1980.
