QUBSU Elections 2008

Fancy some patronising lollipop bribery?  Yes it’s that time of year again when very few Queen’s students vote people hungry for power and a year off into positions of very little authority or relevance.  Last year’s lot were great fun, but this year’s are total dullards!

Gone is Neo... gone are the embarrassing/ugly photos... but not gone are the same old hackneyed policies: we hate fees, the union should be better, the union should be cheaper, we want free trade panty liners.... guh, how fucking boring.  If this lot actually achieved anything, surely the exact same people wouldn’t be making the exact same pledges every year?

Bollocks to all that old trite, where are all the left wing / right wing nuts of the future going to come from? We want Castro, we want rivers of blood!  Student politics ain’t what it used to be... unless you count plastering UNIONIST in big letters across your manifesto.  That’s the spirit – fuck the Union, what about the Union!

Update:  Almost equally as subtle, some candidates have helpfully plastered Vótáil on their posters so that the taig constituency automatically knows who to vote for without having to think about it.  How thoughtful!
